FASHIONWEEK Fall 2007: The Most Interesting Trends from the Milan Shows. FASHIONTRIBES FASHION BLOG
Oh those fabulous Italians, how they do love themselves a lil' glam and glitz. While the main trends of the season were strongly in evidence - fur-fur-fur, oversized silhouettes, bright hues & prints, menswear-inspired pants and dresses, and seasonless dressing - the Italians somehow always manage to add a patina of glamour-with-a-capital-G. (The Femme Fatale trend that started in New York was particularly well suited for Milan, and was naturally well represented.)
Minus any of the edginess of London, and less nakedly commercial than New York, Milan kind of walks the middle road: saleable but still directional. And the most directional Italian of all, Prada, set her own course as usual. Coats were missing sleeves, or featured slits normally found on capes, and were rendered in muted, dipdyed earth- & fruit-tones - in marked contrast to the crayola bright ruby, cobalt and emerald hues so evident in many collections.

Excellent review Lesley. I am loving all of it. And the FUR! Gorgeous. As I get older, I am appreciating Italian fashion more and more. If only I had places to wear these fabulous looks.

Some quite unique and awesome jewelry. How quickly does the general public buy into such large jewelry?
