FASHIONWEEK Fall 2007: The Most Interesting Trends from the New York Shows. FASHIONTRIBES FASHION BLOG

New York isn't known for being the most creative of Fashionweeks; saleable, yes, but often lacking in imagination. However, enough important & trendsetting designers show here, that it's a precursor of what to expect from London, Milan and Paris.  This season, some 60s space age silhouettes and necklines still persisted, as did crayola bright tights a la 80s, but the more interesting trends included the predominance of beautiful-to-gorgeous grown up clothes for ladies, the surprising lack of jewelry, fur, color, gray dresses, slouchy/chic trousers, metallics (still!), hats - and the emergence of seasonless clothing & color palettes.

The Top 10 Most Interesting Trends from New York:

  1. Seasonless Clothing
  2. Black-clad Femme Fatale
  3. Fur
  4. Grey Dresses
  5. Slouchy-Chic, High-Waisted Trousers
  6. Metallics
  7. Color, Color & More Color
  8. Hats
  9. Spats
  10. Touches of Classic Red

We also reviewed the following New York shows:

I love color and how it makes any girl look refreshed and vibrant!!! Max Azria's nephew Sydney Azria just launched a cashmere clothing line that will be perfect to wear to the shows at Bryant Park. The great thing is that I don't want to be in black from head to toe. I want some color with LA flair that he does in his collection!!! You should do a feature on him... Los Angeles is eating him up and everything he does at the moment. He is great!! Perfect for fall in NYC.
