FASHIONWEEK Fall 2007: Lyn Devon Delivers a Dose of Modern, Ladylike Chic. FASHIONTRIBES FASHION BLOG
(photos: nymag.com)
Summary: A somber palette of blacks, inks, shades of gray, and muted cognac showcased high-waisted tweed pants with a skinny, Audrey Hepburn'worthy silhouette, kimono sleeve coats with draped blouson backs, and long body skimming gowns delivered a different kind of sexy - one that's about the allure being revealed in what's covered up, rather than what's showing. A vintage-inspired tweed sheath featured pockets with two convex strips of tomato red about 6" apart which continued around the side seam and onto the front, highlighting the pockets. A strapless tweed sheath was layered over a black turtleneck, and a good old fashioned inky blue & black faille "evening" coat was slightly oversized, but not unflatteringly so.
Color Palette: black; inky blue; rust; dusty burgundy; camel; shades of light to dark grey
Textures & Details: kimono sleeves; blouson dress & jacket backs; Audrey Hepburn'ish high-waisted skinny pants; faille; jersey; tweed; cashmere; corset styling
Key Looks: long tweed corset dress layered over a black turtleneck; high-waisted skinny tweed pants; tweed cocoonish coat over black faille pants; inky blue & black faille evening coat; fitted shift made from vertical panels of black & deep gray
