Heatherette had the crowd dancing in their seats at the Fall 2007 show, with an awesome soundtrack mix by Swizz Beatz.  The show was a journey through the Wizard of Oz, with Lydia Hearst as Dorothy and her entourage strutting down the yellow brick runway in rainbow of colors.  Amada Lepore took the runway as Glinda the Good Witch, and Kimora Lee Simmons even made a special appearance walking the runway.  Some crazy do-it-yourself looks included one model wearing what looked to be bundles of different colored yarn slumped together as a coat, another that seemed to be wearing a frumpy comforter tied to their back and an ass-bearing male model in a chaps-fitting Tin Man ensemble.  Done up Heatherette style, most of the looks had color explosion, sequins, fur and glitter written all over it.  There were definitely pieces that looked like they were deconstructed and reassembled from a sweater to a dress.  There were also some looks that had screen prints of Dorothy, Tin Man and Scarecrow in both color and black & white.  One look that I found appealing was a strapless dress, cut shorter in the front and longer in the back, with a colorful graphic print, sequined strapless bustline overlayed against a sleek black turtleneck.  I didn’t find the mens clothing too wearable at all, as they were mostly strutting around in bare chests and minimal clothing.  Lydia Hearst accessorized the runway with the new PUMA bag, co-designed by Heatherette and inspired by Lydia.  The new limited edition bag is luxurious and fashionably sporty in three colors of “Delicate,” “Night” and “Wild,” It is a custom version of PUMA’s French 77 Racket Bag.

It had been a mob scene trying to get into the show, in which many Heatherette fans were disappointed and angry from being shut out due to the overpacked venue.  But for club hoppers, partygoers and drag queens who made it through, the show was just the opening ceremony for the night.
