Summary: Three delightfully louche groups of “picnickers”, “entomologists,” and “daydreamers” lounged on artificial turf, roasting wienies & sketching, watching the clouds mosey on by, and surrounded by a caseload of empty champagne bottles (my kinda picnic!). Vena Cava’s unconventional presentation in which the models stayed put while the editors and crowd milled around them provided a fun diversion from the normal runway activity. Hearkening back to Sunday picnics of yore, there were slouchy chic sundresses, trousers, and glamourous column dresses in ivory with a striking drapey ruffle/capelet bodice (a collar that’s oversized enough to become a mini cape) featuring a black Art Deco’ish print.

Color Palette:  cream with black print, navy, burgundy, taupe, lavender, black & white stripes

Textures & Details: drapey silks, full on black fringe, ruffles,  Art Deco’ish prints, oversize pleated collars large enough to be a mini cape, old fashioned garden party attire,

Key Looks: ivory column dress with black print on the collar/bodice; tea dresses; navy pinafore sleeve shift
