The new wireless kit comes with a sensor that is placed in the Nike Air Zoom Moire, and a receiver that is attached to the Nano. Distance run, as well a time, pace, and calories burned are recorded and relayed to the Nano - which delivers the feedback visually or as audio. Additionally, workout data can be uploaded to the new NikePlus.com to track progress and engage in virtual competition with others. Most importantly, a playlist can be customized for the part where you actually get out and run. "One of the most powerful influences on running is music," agrees Nike CEO Mark Parker in a recent piece in USAToday.com.

The $29 kit will soon be available at Apple stores and Nike footwear stores. "It's a really inexpensive accessory for two premium-priced products," opines Ross Rubin of the NPD Group research firm. Which is true, until you add in the $150 you'll need to lay out for the Nano, and the additional $100 for the kicks themselves.
