Gareth Pugh showed a small but mighty collection of mostly black with some gold. The 12 tightly edited and extravagantly styled looks actually contained a number of extremely "fashion-y" but wearable pieces. The key: overlook the fabulous - but less than practical - styling, avoid head-to-toe-runway'itis & pair the more over-the-top stuff with stripped-down neutrals such as simple tees, and a classic pant or jean.

Gareth Pugh looks beloved by FT:

  • the black patent puffer that opened the show - would be stunning with jeans
  • a highwaisted black leather skirt with sculptural pockets
  • oversized tulle jacket/shrug
  • coat crafted from gold tinsel
