Dior Haute Couture F'15
According to the retail consulting firm Conlumino in their new report, Airport Retail Survey and Luxury Trends 2015-2016, which delves into the trends in purchasing patterns, over the next year, a whopping 92% of travelers intend to spend any airport time scoring some Dior!
Given the "Raf Simons effect" - responsible for boosting Dior couture sales 25% - it's not surprising that Dior is in such demand worldwide.
For on this creative director's watch, the maison has again become a must-have, just as it was during its now-iconic New Look phase. And the storied Dior DNA is once again working its magic thanks to the creative way Simons is tapping into it, tweaking it and transforming it. "Coming out of the austerity of the Second World War, Dior was inspired by something he wasn't supposed to be inspired by," says Simons, adding that his own stellar couture collection for Fall 2015 was about "Fighting out of Dior's DNA." Particularly the "loaded heritage" of the coats, which channeled what felt forbidden at the time to Dior: "glamour, excess, too much."
