One spendy-but-fabulous black-lace blouse by Alberta Ferretti & five totally different ways to wear it! Thus far, I've made it...
...fashion-forward (Look #1 - right)
...rocker chick (Look #2 - below left)
...boho babe (Look #3 - below right)
....gamine but with some bite for today's Look #5 (top). The cake upon which any self-respecting gamine look is built is the pencil skirt. It can be black, it can be denim, it can be summery, wintery, printy (like it is here). The key is that it's curve skimming without being too tight & zooms in toward the knee, pegging right in the middle of the kneecap. Meaning: if you need to pay a bit to have a tailor move the hem up (or down), do it. And flats: the gamine girl (think Audrey Hepburn) is typically pretty creative and enjoys running (or bussing or subwaying or biking) around town to all her various projects, which means tottering about in heels won't cut it. She also loves cute glasses and chic scarves. And satchels - because she's always toting around so much good stuff.
