The brand's newest scent was designed in alignment with Burberry’s Sport Fashion line, combining that quintessentially British sporting attitude with an energetic spirit. Inspired by the British outdoors and the brand’s historical performance trench coats, Creative Director Christopher Bailey designed the two new scents as a natural extension of Burberry’s technical, functional, and fashion DNA. "Sport is a natural extension of who we are," explains Bailey. "We really wanted to explore the technical, functional and sporting sides of the Burberry heritage and incorporate all of these elements into modern and innovative design."
The bottles are encased in all-weather rubber - winter white for women and black for men - and further accessorized with a red Burberry Sport wristband. "The packaging for the Sport fragrances is completely different than anything we've worked on before," continues Bailey. "It's innovative and youthful and we wanted it to reflect a real sport attitude - technical, athletic, and weatherproof."
The campaign features two "great" Brits, Lily Donaldson and actor Douglas Booth, and was shot on London rooftop during a beautiful summer's day "to capture this sense of fresh air, the outdoors, and of natural light, and we wanted it to look and feel like a sporting attitude."
Notes include red ginger, sea salt, and cedar wood at the heart and base. "Fragrance is incredibly emotive," adds Bailey. "We really wanted the new fragrances to feel fresh and clean, for them to evoke memories of being by the sea and reflect a real sense of nature and the outdoors."
