When she bravely re-entered the youth-obsessed world of modeling at age 46, the fabulous-at-any-age Lauren Hutton was less than thrilled with the makeup they were using on her. "I hated the way some makeup artists made me look (much, much older)," she explains, pointing out that most of the makeup on the market is aimed at a much younger market. "The textures are heavy, the colors saturated, and they're filled with shiny particles that act like airport runway lights in every line, wrinkle, or pore, shouting: 'Look over here!'" After doing extensive research and even going so far as to blend her own products, she was finally able to streamline the results into her eponymous line of makeup featuring minimal application time with maximum gorgeous results.
"Lord knows, I never want to waste any more of my time in front of mirrors," she notes (if she feels that way, imagine how the rest of us mortals feel), so she also created specific application tools and precise instructions on how to apply everything using a clever color-coded system: each of the products in the makeup disc is surrounded by a colored ring that matches a colored band on one of the seven brushes in her line - so you know exactly which brush to use when applying each product. Selecting the correct palette for your skin tone is just as easy, since there are only four to choose from: Pink, Yellow, Olive, or Brown.
