Just as bank accounts everywhere were starting to breathe a sigh of relief that the era of the four-figure "it" bag had ended, something far more fiscally-fatal (and five-figured) this way comes for Fall: a breathtaking update on the most coveted bag ever that somehow manages to bring it on without blinging it on. "My idea was to work around the trompe l'oeil concept with the Birkin," Hermes designer, Jean Paul Gaultier, recently explained to Harper's Bazaar. "The flap, straps, and clochette seem to have been chiseled in the raw material, the result of unbelievable craftsmanship." And the price for all this glam sans glitz? If you have to ask...(well, okay, just under $11,000).
