With prices starting under $200 (120GBP), there's no excuse not to stock up colorful vintage pieces from the original resortwear designer, dashing Florentine aristocrat Emilio Pucci - who first came to fame in 1947 when his brightly colored skiwear was featured in Harper's Bazaar. Culled from private sources in the US and Europe and curated for YOOX.com by vintage expert Holly Brubach, some of the outstanding pieces include a swirling summery-print silk chiffon mini with tone-on-tone beading from the 60s, a signature aeronautically-themed scarf, a fabulous 70s beach coverup, and a "slave" bracelet prototype by Coppola e Toppo for Emilio Pucci from the collection of jewelry author/expert Deanna Farneti Cera. "Vintage Pucci has been a phenomenon from my early years in my father's company," Laudomia Pucci recently explained to Brubach. "It was in 1989 that suddenly a young crowd of fashionistas would be seen at fashion shows in Paris, New York, and Milano wearing a Pucci scarf, dress, or leggings in our unique prints. Soon Paloma Picasso, Isabella Rossellini, Madonna and others picked up on the trend, and Pucci vintage became a must. Personally, I still can't resist the temptation...and I buy!" The sale begins Thursday, June 4 at YOOX.com.
