Over 30 covers of the February issues of Elle Magazine internationally will feature Gisele in (PRODUCT) RED gear. Inside, Scarlett Johansson shares details and photos of her travels to Rwanda with Bono, who also publishes a personal letter, admonishing the less protest-minded among us to shop for the greater good. "Not everybody is able to march to the barricades – not everybody owns a pair of proper military boots – but there’s something you can do even in Manolos," notes the U2 front man about (PRODUCT) RED items - with partners including Armani, Apple, and the Gap - which dedicate up to 50% of the profits to fighting HIV/AIDS in Africa where a mere $.40 per day translates into the two antiretroviral pills needed to survive.
"If that can be achieved by buying a couple of pairs of Converse, it’s worth a shot," agrees ScarJo, who has publicly acknowledged having taken two HIV tests to surprising widespread criticism. "Everyone was completely horrified, the implication being that I was leading this wild lifestyle. I was only being responsible."
