In the daze & haze of a solid month of fashion shows, Gareth Pugh has always been a memorable standout. And now that the maverick British designer has won the ANDAM prize and is showing in the City of Lights with his name in lights, he's even acquired the fabulous Rick Owens as a mentor...not to mention getting to produce his line in his mentor's factory. "I was thinking of Millais' painting of Ophelia where you can't tell if she's drowing or rising from the water," the designer explained about his Pre-Raphaelite inspiration to DazedDigital.com, which also shot uber-arty video of the show.
Styled by Katie Shillingford of Dazed, the parade of exaggerated silhouettes, ruffs, body armor, leather and latex looked positively spring-like (for Pugh), thanks to a palette dominated by white & slightly lighter fabrics like chiffon.
