Flip through the new behemoth September magazines and it's clear that the inky lips on the YSL runway have become a full-blown beauty trend for fall. While gorgeously gothy in high concept editorial spreads, real life requires something more wearable. A good way to try on the trend is with a lower-pigment black lipgloss, such as Lancome's Color Fever Gloss in Piha Black which will be debuting in November in an extremely limited edition.
Part of a luxe lip set created by Aaron de Mey, Lancome's new artistic director for makeup, it also comes with Color Fever Lipstick in Piha Red, inspired by the red of a Christian Louboutin sole (Piha is the name of the beach near Aaron’s childhood home in New Zealand). An adherent of having fun with makeup, de Mey even uses the Piha Black as an eye gloss, and designed both colors to be worn alone or mixed together for a bit more drama.
500 sets will be available exclusively at the five Lancome boutiques, Lancome-USA.com, and at Bloomingdale's 59th Street store in NYC - where the wait list has just opened (call ASAP 1-212-705-2886 to add your name).
