As part of LV's return to their luxury travel roots, the filmmaking (and Oscar-winning) duo were photographed by Annie Leibovitz in the countryside outside Buenos Aires, where Coppola Sr. is shooting his latest movie. Inside every story, there is a beautiful journey reads the tagline below the serene, almost impressionistic moment between father and daughter.
"Not only does it capture the unique quality of a father-daughter relationship, in which both are enriched by a shared experience, but it also evokes the heritage of Louis Vuitton with its suggestion of know-how being passed from one generation to the next," explains Pietro Beccari, Louis Vuitton Senior Vice-President, Communication and Marketing, about the company's "core values" campaign which reframes travel as a personal journey.
"This is another wonderful portrait by Annie Leibovitz for Louis Vuitton," agrees Antoine Arnault, Head of Communications at Louis Vuitton. (This is the fifth in the award-winning Louis Vuitton Journeys series created by Ogilvy & Mather which features portraits of exceptional people such as Catherine Deneuve, Keith Richards, and Mikhail Gorbachev.) "Her memorable image of Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola will further broaden the scope and enhance the impact of our global message."
