In short...a big fashion Don't! From left: Christina Ricci, Erin Wasson, Nicole Richie, Alice Dellal & Kate Moss (via WWD)
When celebs give their stylists the day off, bad things can happen...like this disturbing mini trend of cut-off denim short-shorts (aka Daisy Dukes). Really, these looked beyond cheap when their namesake wore them in the original Dukes of Hazzard series (and the recent remake with Jessica Simpson...please, don't go there, just don't).

Instead, if you've got the balls for short-shorts, and, more importantly, the legs (if you have to ask...), then take your styling cues from the runways, not from a cheesy 70s TV series.
Some failsafe commandments for the successful wearing of short-shorts:
- Frayed and/or acid/lightwash denim...thou simply shalt not (ditto plaid shirts...and double ditto knotted to bare one's belly).
- Thou shalt upgrade the look with a stylish boyfriend blazer or cute cropped jacket.
- Thou shalt rock cute, casual-chic heels and zingy accessories.
- Thou shalt not pair with a tight tomboy tee or the dreaded hokey plaid; rather, thou shalt opt for a feminine cami or frou-frou blouse.
A cute way to rock a short-shorts look with panache:
- 3.1 Phillip Lim linen playsuit
- Mike & Chris Clyde cropped jacket
- Dolce & Gabbana gold frame sunglasses
- Diane von Furstenberg floral print scarf
- Fendi patent B bag
- Stella McCartney beaded strappy sandals
- Isharya Cubist coral cuff
- Lesley Scott
