The Fantasy Fashion League is the fashionista's answer to fantasy football, but instead of tracking touchdowns, players try and predict who will score big on the red carpet. Makeup, jewelry, hair & even shoes worn by celebs are tracked by the FFL staff on a daily basis, and players then create teams comprised of celebs and fashion labels. Points are awarded depending on how your team performs; eg. if you have either Reese Witherspoon or Chanel on your team and she shows up on the red carpet in Chanel, you earn points. The finale of the FFL Red Carpet season is currently quickly approaching - the Academy Awards - to earn maximum points for your celeb style savvy, create a team with tried and true faves (Cate Blanchett; Jennifer Hudson) and some new names with great potential (Marion Cotillard).
For the FFL beauty edition, mark makeup artist Jamie Greenberg is betting that red carpet beauty will be "fresh and healthy, with a twist of creative personality. That is what this season has been all about. We haven't seen looks that are contrived and perfect and I'm expecting more of the same for the red carpet." Here are Greenberg's red carpet beauty predictions for the Oscars:
OUTRAGEOUS LASHES "It's all about the lashes. Look for simple, neutral looks amped up by messy lashes with heavy mascara! I'm predicting we'll see lots of fabulous lashes – maybe even in a fun color like deep purple." Try: mark.Scandalash Mascara in Winegloss. On her team: Keira Knightley
BOLD MATTE LIPS "You're going to see a lot of bold matte lips in pink, orange and red shades. The red carpet will show minimal gloss. (Just as a tip, if you need gloss, you can always add a little to the middle of the bottom lip to make it pop.) Try: mark.Gleamstick in Reflectiv, Passionate, Euphoric and Melodramatic with mark.Pop in Color Lip Gloss in Red Pop or Peach Pop. On her team: Alicia Keys
NON-TRADITIONAL SMOKY EYE I think we'll still see a lot of smoky eyes on the red carpet but with non-traditional flair. We won't see the traditional black but a darker color on the lid and a sweep of something a shade lighter in the crease. Instead of lining the eyes with black, we will see a bright blue or deep purple. (Tip: to get this look, remember to set the liner with a powder.) Try: mark. on the Edge Liquid Eyeliner in Calisto;mark i-Sheer Cream in Meringue, Mousse, Praline. On her team: Marion Cotillard
FLUSHED CHEEKS "You're going to see a lot of pink and coral cheeks, for a flushed look. Get this look by starting with a cream blush, setting it with traslucent powder, and oging over it again with powder blush. Try: mark. Just Pinched in Cheeky and mark Good Glowing Powder Blush in Cameo. On her team: Cate Blanchett
