Although nickel-free aluminium is now mostly associated with industrial- & consumer-product use, it was actually once used to craft tiny amulets & medals embossed with various saints & madonnas. o-tag is resurrecting aluminium as an accessory - combining 19th century minting on a vintage press with a dose of 21st century technology to create eyecatching & richly-detailed dogtag pendants.
After embossing - a process by which the aluminium is allowed to flow & conform to the design - each tag is then checked by hand, given a steel-brush finish & a special authenticity mark on the back. A handpainted, sweat-resistant coating is added for longevity; however - as with your fave jeans - regular wear & tear only adds to the wonderfully worn-in look.
