Following a black tie gala in New York City, the largest online charity sale kicks off, featuring over $9 million worth of handpicked designer and celebrity-owned merchandise benefiting AIDS/HIV charities.
Happen to be in New York between November 16-18? A public sale of the items will take place at the 69th Regiment Armory (Lexington and 26th Street) in the heart of Manhattan. Otherwise, sign up on eBay & get ready to start bidding (check out our trusty guide to doing the eBay thing & we'll have you bidding like an old pro in no time).
Prices at the public sale are 70 percent below the retail price and starting bids on eBay start at as much as 90 percent below retail; visit often because new seven-day auctions launch daily.
Sponsored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Vogue, eBay, Kenneth Cole Productions, M.A.C AIDS Fund, Marc Jacobs International, Polo Ralph Lauren & Topshop, all the proceeds will benefit AIDS and HIV charities. The M.A.C. AIDS Fund will match every dollar raised from the online auctions up to $500,000. In 2005 alone, 7th on Sale raised $1.7 million to fight HIV/AIDS.
