Some tasty chocolate pearls, perhaps? (Erica Courtney chocolate cultured pearl earrings: modernjeweler.com)
Jewelry.com recently surveyed more than 1,000 women to see what type of bling they're hoping to receive this holiday season. Naturally diamonds topped the list - with 30% choosing a Right Hand Ring as their jewel of choice - however, a full 28% noted that they hoped Santa would show up with a chocolate pearl ring.
"What was surprising was the number of respondents stating they'd like gems, traditionally regarded as white, such as pearls and diamonds, in different colors notably browns, yellows, even black," notes Virginia Halevi, Editor-in-Chief of Jewelry.com, which showcases the latest in jewelry designs & news, and links to 5,500 individual jewelry storefronts, including Gordon's, Helzberg, JCPenney, Kay Jewelers, Macy's, Sears, and Zales. "While diamonds remain a girl's best friend, consumers are looking for some fashion-forward finds, with colored diamonds enjoying a notable surge in popularity."
Jewelry.com uncovers what women really want:
