Want these? Then start with the right base.
What's a lip gloss, stick & balm junkie to do when dry, flaky lips strike? Beauty entrepreneur Sara Happ tried drenching her lips with every moisturizing, chap-proofing, glossy product out there, which only made matters worse. And that retarded (albeit much repeated) magazine advice about scrubbing lips with washcloths & baby toothbrushes? Please.
Instead of soft smooth lips, it highighting the flakes...and her unending search for some version of a lip loofah turned up empty. “I love what loofahs and scrubs do to my face and body, and my lips were starting to get jealous," explains Happ. "I could picture exactly what I wanted this product to look like, to smell like, and to taste like. But most of all, I wanted results."
Like any can-do beauty junkie (she even brought her curling iron and blow-dryer with to girl scout camp once), she headed to the kitchen, began mixing ingredients; within two weeks, she had whipped up the The Lip Scrub, a sugar-based exfoliator containing natural extracts. "My lips had never been pinker or smoother; my gloss never looked better. The beauty market is already chock-full of anything a girl could ever want, but once I used my concoction and saw real results, I realized that the market was actually missing something. It became a staple in my makeup bag, and I was using it every single day. Really, truly - every day. That's when I knew I was on to something." So did the owners of L.A.'s The Aesthetics Centre, The Beauty Closet, Potion in Brentwood, & Beauty Bar Apothecary in Beverly Hills - who all immediately placed orders.
Packaged in truffle boxes from Italy ("to make each one look like an adorable little present"), The Lip Scrub is available in six flavors: Almond Crème, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon Sugar, Cocoa, Peppermint & Vanilla Bean. Celeb fans include Charlize Theron, Katie Holmes, Lindsay Lohan & Kate Moss.
Available at TheLipScrub.com (& a special thanks to Fashiontribes Community Member Eric for the heads up!)
