As the daughter of a former tailor in Lima, Peru, designer Giny Blau has been handcrafting chic items since her teens.

"I grew up surrounded by cloth materials, wool and yarn, since my father used to make clothes. By the time I was 17 years old, I used to take all the pieces he discarded and make children's clothes," notes the designer about inheriting her father's way with fabric. "I have always enjoyed working with all types of materials and create myriad clothes or accessories. My father is retired now, but I am keen on preserving the art I have inherited from him. The handbags that I design are intended to be original while bearing the essence of Peruvian artistry and traditions."
