Held at the famed famed downtown NYC art hotspot Salmagundi Art Club, indie designers Mooka Kinney, tee maven Jess Rotter & Nolita's I Heart upped the fashion factor at the annual CMJ Music Extravaganza & Film Festival. An off-duty Sebastien Grainger (Death From Above) performed with Les Montagnes, his new side-project, while Small Town Talk DJ Chad Brown put in props for fash insider fave Gray Ant. "I caught his show in L.A. on Tuesday. Amazing!" raved Brown about the label's designer, Grant Krajecki to Style.com's Maya Singer. "Seriously, that guy's leading the way. He's holding up the glow stick for a whole new generation."
Members of Spoon & the Rapture were also in the house, as well as Ron Palillo, better know as Horshack from Welcome Back, Kotter. "He's my first guest artist!" enthuses Rotter. "We met through a mutual friend, and I had no idea he made stoner wizard art. But as soon as I found out, I was like, oh yeah."
For those who missed the madness, send Rotter your fave dream 60s/70s obscure mix track listing and enter to win a limited edition tote decorated with exclusive artwork by Jess Rotter and Mooka Kinney at Moli.com As an added bones, they will pick the top three mixes and stream them on their Moli profile at Moli.com/RotterAndFriends.
