How long has StyleCrazy! been around?
StyleCrazy! (A Fashion Diary) was launched May 8, 2006.
How did you get started?
I knew that I really loved fashion. I was at a point where I was really trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I decided to change my major for the FOURTH time to Apparel Studies, and I figured that having a fashion blog would keep me up-to-date- with what's going on in the fashion world and I could learn so much.
How do you describe your own style?
It's funny because I wouldn't consider myself a trendy person. I don't have the budget to be trendy, but if I could, I would. I used to be really scared of bold printed fabrics, but since I've started StyleCrazy, I've been more adventurous to try new looks. I'm steadily moving away from the 'Gap' look.
How do you describe your blog to someone who hasn't visited it (yet)?
I would describe my blog as the place you need to go to find the latest trends, fashion news, product reviews, and celebrity style.
What do you like best about blogging? Least?
I love doing features, like products, designers, and other blogs. It can be time consuming, but it's worth it because I LOVE blogging.
What was the most suprising thing you found about maintaining a blog?
The most surprising thing about blogging is that there aren't more people doing it. It's WAY better than Myspace.
What style trends are you liking? Which do you wish would go away & die?
My favorite trends are bangles, madras, and wide leg jeans. These are styles that I've liked since I was 12. I don't care for any trends to go away. Sometimes, I'll diss a trend at first look, but I usually get used to it, like skinny jeans and leggings. There's always a way to make the look new and fresh. Just make sure you're always updating your style.
Celebs & fashion...dish & discuss.
I love how celebrities wear the latest fashion trends. They look comfortable and I think it makes people want to try it out for themselves. It's a compliment to be a trendsetter. You can also find out what not to do or what doesn't work. I really love Beyonce's style because she really knows what works on her body. She wears styles that I would never think to try and that really inspires me.
In your opinion, how will style blogs affect traditional media & fashion mags?
Style blogs will greatly affect fashion magazines because everyone wants up-to-the-minute information and the easiest way to get it is the Internet.
What do you want people to know about StyleCrazy!
I want people to know that StyleCrazy! will be around for a very long time. I've fallen in love with it. The purpose will stay the same, but I will always upgrade when I can. Like, new features, and maybe a few giveaways.
