FASHIONWEEK Spring 2008: Mara Hoffman Grooves on Prints, Bright Hues & Girlie Silhouettes. FASHIONTRIBES FASHION BLOG
Summary: Mara Hoffman brings us back to the good ol' days where free love flowed, psychedelia reigned, and colorful graphic prints ruled the fashion scene. The iconic sixties returned in billowy blue and green silk chiffon, jersey drape dresses, and silk charmuse jumpsuits. A fully evolved swimsuit collection was inspired by colorful birds of paradise, and crotched netting over bikinis and voluminous bell sleeves were reminiscent of butterflies emerging from their cocoons.
Color Palette: Green, blue, gray, orange, brown, black, red, khaki, turquoise, purple, fuchsia, yellow, peach, and mint green
Textures & Details: silk chiffon, spandex, silk charmuse, silk jersey, crochet, cotton, macrame, stripes, orchid print, knit, chartreuse
Key Looks: Though you may not see your average fortysomething rocking the very youthful silk chiffon Blue Flower harness "flirt" dress or the itsy bitsy Peach Shell Collage silk jersey double minidress, overall the look is ethereal & eclectic..perfect for the die-hard fashionista looking to break out of monotonous grey and black.
