Just in time for summer - when fashionistas everywhere are on the hunt for oversize floral fabrics to turn into skirts & blazers -  the Scalamandre in the City sales event has kicked in. Known around the world for their silks, fab wallcoverings, and more than 75 years of historic restoration projects, Scalamandre is synonymous with fabric fabulousness; they are currently offering up a rich mix of fabrics, trims, artifacts and assorted antiques - at special sales prices & re-stocked daily.

In the process of moving their Manhattan offices, they emptied out a warehouse full of weaving artifacts, fabulous fabrics and surprises from their historic archives for the sale, including bolts of damasks, prints, piece-goods with hand-embroidered details, trims, skeins of yarn, large and colorful spools of thread, and gorgeous wallpapers. Antique fiends will want to check out the selection of weaving artifacts such as swifts, iron loom parts, cast iron loom frames, as well as weaving apparatus such as an original cord winder from the Scalamandre mill, and a beautiful iron and wood warping wheel. "An inevitable aspect of our business is over-production," notes Scalamandre President, Bob Bitter.  "Eventually our storage and archives become full.  So while we are relocating our Third Avenue office, we thought our wonderful customers would enjoy some fun and some bargains, while we reclaim much- needed warehouse space at the same time."
