An Ethnic-Chic, Budget-Friendly Summer Ensemble Inspired by Balenciaga. FASHIONTRIBES FASHION BLOG
For Fall 2007, Nicolas Ghesquiere referenced everything from Eastern European folk costumes to ikat, kimonos, and the ethnic fabrics of Africa, Peru, Mongolia and Bali. The point? Instead of sticking with the safety of an all-black city uniform, why not incorporate some of the fresh, non-ironic exuberance of native costume, especially in a breezy summer outfit? An especially fun way to start is with something in fuschia - which looks fab with summer whites - and then add bright blue jewelry in shades of turquoise and vibrant aqua. Additional metallic gold hardware on bags, shoes & ears is a highly fabulous way to then gild the lily.
A fun & affordable ethnic-inspired summer ensemble for around $250...for the whole outfit!
