What do Your Clothes Say About You? The Wardrobe Shrink Lets You in on the Real Message of What You are Unconsciously Communicating. FASHIONTRIBES FASHION BLOG
Research shows that 65% of communication is non-verbal and based not on what you say but in a large part on how you look. The way you communicate yourself conveys positive or negative impressions and can determine whether you are ‘seen’ as suited for a job, as partner potential or as a match for a sorority. "Every item you are wearing is a word that says something about you," explains Sarah Whittaker, The Wardrobe Shrink. "Together, your outfit makes up a statement that tells others how you see yourself and what you want them to think about you. You create your own "wardrobe language" from your life experiences and by those that influence you."
Using five tools - clothing type, form & texture, finishing & detailing, color psychology, and accessories - Whittaker profiles and counsels her clientele on how to dress according to their psychology. "Without realizing, people can inadvertently dress what they least want you to know about them or what they most want to hide. What you want to disguise, you only emphasize! This is why reinventing yourself can often lead to a new image…but the same signals."
