The Lancome-Sponsored "Beauty on the Vine" Play Investigates the Power of the Human Face in an Identity-Craving Celeb-Mad Culture. FASHIONTRIBES BEAUTY BLOG

Beauty

Lancôme is sponsoring the new Zak Berkman off-Broadway play, Beauty on the Vine, and their post-show discussion forums.   Curated by The Beyond Beauty Initiative Committee, discussions will range from the neuroscience of recognition, feminism in the MySpace era, perspectives on same-sex education, the growth of cosmetic surgery, women in politics, the power of right-wing radio and more.

A romantic fable, the play explores the power of the human face in our identity-craving culture in Lindsay Lohan America. When a young female star of right-wing radio is brutally murdered, her husband and father investigate the reasons behind the violence. They discover a world where young women transform themselves to look like their idols and mothers lose their daughters to the illusion of popularity and power.

Friday, May 4 is JANE Magazine night, with post-show discussion curated by Editor-In-Chief, BRANDON HOLLEY, and castmember OLIVIA WILDE - tix are half off ($20) if you use the ordering code Jane.

Tickets available at EpicTheatreCtr.org.
