Full-Figured Fashionistas Now Have a Boutique of their Own at Lee Lee's Valise in Brooklyn. FASHIONTRIBES FASHION BLOG

As a child, Lisa - or Lee Lee as she was then known - loved her grandfather's battered valise, and would schlep it along religiously each year for the vacation with the fam on Long Island. Her doting uncle decided that instead of lugging it to their annual outing to the Radio City Music Hall Christmas show, he would stash it in a locker until after the show.  “My valise, my valise….Uncle Mickey they are going to steal my valise and all my new clothes and toys…oh no…..my valise”, screamed the devastated Lee Lee. Poor Uncle Mickey had to leave the show to get Lee Lee’s valise so she could know that her clothes were safe. To this day, her cousins still tease her and ask her “Lee Lee…where’s your valise?”

Well, now Lisa can tell them that her valise is on the corner of Court and President Streets in a former Brooklyn longshoreman's social club in Brooklyn dating back to the days of Al Capone (who scandalously married an Irish girl down the street at St Mary’s Star of the Sea). And it's filled with her clothes and toys that she wants to share with all of her friends and family sizes 12-24.

Normally-proportioned fashionistas can choose from tops, pants, dresses, fitted bras and lingerie, as well as perfume, jewelry,  wraps, shawls, handbags and scarves (and even scented candles) - for everything from a stylish prom outfit to an ensemble to wear to a wedding, baptism or bar mitzvah. Labels on offer  include Tadashi, Donna Ricco, Abby Z, Igigi, Kiyonna, Elena Miro, Anna Scholz, Marina Avraam, B and Lu, Fashion Overdose, Jessica Svododa, and Size Appeal, along with lingerie lines Spanks, Prima Donna, Volage, Grenier, and Hanky Panky.  Local jewelry designers are also featured.
