FASHIONWEEK Fall 2007: Imaginative Clothing Armor from Alexander McQueen. FASHIONTRIBES FASHION BLOG
Although this collection was apparently inspired by the discovery that one of his ancestors on his mother's side was hanged during the Salem witch trial mania of the late 17th century, the feel seems more queenly; with the dramatic cateye makeup, it's not hard to imagine a modern day Cleopatra clothed in these dramatic ensembles.
The leather leggings making an appearance on so many runways also showed up here, along with metallics, clothing-as-armor, and bright cobalt blue. A shade too dramatic, perhaps, for day jobs involving Wall Street, accounting/insurance, or expense accounts for wining & dining clients, but perfect for the fashionista wanting to stand out...literally.
