Typically, when you think of the term "hourglass figure" it means a defined waist, and possibly an enhanced shoulder - but never an "enhanced" hip. However, Nicolas Ghesquiere explored this (usually ignored) part of the hourglass, padding the thigh area with baggy breeches and, in the process, creating an elegantly curved line extending out from the waist and narrowing below the knee.  The crayon bright colors popping up in so many collections showed up here in the exuberantly colored erector-set sandals; bolted together from units of molded plastic, they definitely take the stuffiness out of designer shoes.
