Glam Shopping Beat column for the week of 1/29/07 - by Lesley Scott:

The much-discussed silver platforms striding down the Pucci spring runway provided a fresh take on the overly ripe wedge trend: the flashy silver color; a hole carved all the way through the blocky wedge part; and the clever use of see-through plastic (normally associated with stripper shoes) as a sexy, eyecatching ankle strap.

Although towering plastic & shiny silver footwear may not fit your lifestyle, why not incorporate one or more of the elements into your spring & summer shoe wardrobe? 'Tis the season to walk tall, so a platform adds easy height without the pain of a stiletto. Definitely pick up something in a metallic, especially if it feels very retro 60s Space Age. And of course, embellishment - runway fashions have been incorporating jewelry right into the clothes, and now this trend has headed south. And why not? There's nothing more befitting of a fancy pedi than an equally fancy piece o' footwear to show it off.
