FASHIONWEEK Fall 2007: An Edvard Munch Inspired Clothing Canvas of Luxe from Carolina Herrera. FASHIONTRIBES FASHION BLOG
Summary: Inspired by Edvard Munch's 1889 portrait of Hans Jaeger, Carolina Herrera sent out the expected gorgous garb for globetrotters. Yummy fox and muskrat, chic Jackie O shades by Base Curve for Carolina Herrera, and ballerina elegant slicked back buns made an impeccably chic statement. Gorgeous vintage-inspired fox and sable scarves with cashmere lining & handy pockets were tossed on in lieu of a jacket, making the fur more throwaway in an old-world-money-meets-new-world-caszh kind of way, and therefore that much more luxurious. Long black leather gloves added a snappy touch to chic sheath dresses, while the cropped 3/4 jacket with fox cuff, and blue plaid coat with bias-cut bottom half & silver fox trim were irresistable. And pairing a shiny silver lame skirt with a warm-toned, almost gold fur coat was unexpected - and completely striking.
Color Palette: grey; silver; "captain" blue; blue plaid; blue with large tone-on-tone dot print; black; ivory; burgundy with gold plaid; deep red print
Textures & Details: cashmere-lined fur "scarves" with pockets; black elbow length leather gloves; Jackie O sunglasses; metallics; gold with silver; plaid; oversized dot print; oversized embroidery details; fluffy fur galore
Key Looks: slate gray self-belted day dress; fox fur scarf with floor-length charcoal skirt; silver lame skirt with gold-toned fur jacket; blue plaid fur collar day coat; black long skirt paired with blouse & schoolgirl grey vest
