Come Fashionweek, Fashionistas Will Have a Fab New Scent from Bond No. 9 to Capture the Frenzy: Bryant Park. FASHIONTRIBES BEAUTY & PERFUME BLOG
A mere block from New York's Times Square, the twice-yearly ritual of the international fashion set soon kicks off in Bryant Park: Fashionweek!
A veritable village of chandelier-lit mega-tents sprouts up with a frenetic style arena equipped with shrubbery, flower beds, a carousel, WiFi, A-list designers, world-class models, press, buyers, oh - and clothes. The rest of the year, the park is the backyard of the Beaux Arts 42nd Street headquarters of the New York Public Library, and before that, it was a potter's field, a Native American hunting ground, and even the site of a world's fair. Although the park had fallen into disrepute by the 1930s, briefly revived in the 50s - with classically French landscaping and a central lawn, elegant pathways, stone balustrades, an oval plaza, and a fountain - by the 70s, it had sunk again into decline. The 90s brought with it renewalists, summer music, movies, a Christmas market...and fashionistas.
Although the fate of Fashion Week at this location now hangs in the balance, at least it spawned a fragrance: Bryant Park, Bond No. 9's 28th - a rose-patchouli concoction with pink pepper added for dissonance.
Bond No. 9 Bryant Park notes:
- Top: Lily of the Valley; rhubarb, pink pepper
- Heart: rose; patchouli
- Drydown: raspberry; amber
Preview will occur at Fashionweek, and it will be available starting March 1 at BondNo9.com.
