Fashion Cares is an annual gala in support of the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT), with the goal of building awareness of HIV/AIDS and raising funds for ACT.  The best of Toronto's fashion, design, business and creative communities present a media and celebrity studded gala evening featuring an elegant cocktail reception, sumptuous dinner, incredible boutique and auction, followed by a theatrical fashion and entertainment spectacle. Since its beginning in 1987, each and every Fashion Cares has been a success critically, artistically and financially. With a 20 year attendance of over 50 thousand guests and volunteers and net profits of nearly $10 million dollars, Fashion Cares is always a sold-out event and the hottest party ticket in town!

They recently launched a contest on YouTube called Why ACT Now?, where Canadians can upload short videos of themselves sharing their thoughts and feelings about HIV/AIDS, and what can be done to act now in the fight against the disease. The lucky winner will receive two passes to the Fashion Cares gala on May 12th, 2007, travel and accommodations for the event.
