FASHIONWEEK Spring 2007: Paging Modern Day Marilyns! A Sweet & Sexy Dress Fest at Lisa Thon. FASHIONTRIBES & FASHION BLOG
Summary: The bag waist is baaaack! A fun shape from the 80s, Lisa Thon showed it in innovative ways such as a sugar pink satin shirtdress – or what appeared to a be a shirtdress at first glance, and then proved to be a buttondown tucked into a discreet bagwaist pencil skirt. Full skirts were also much in evidence, paired with vintage-inspired tops reminiscent of an antique camisole, and flattering halter-top dresses cinched at the waist were fabulously feminine. Interestingly, a rich pecan brown hue was quite dominant in many of the dresses and gowns.
Color Palette: rich pecan, coral, pecan with white polka dots, shimmery oyster, milk chocolate, pale yellow, buttercup yellow, blush, sugar pink, metallic coral
Textures & Details: satin, polka dots, halter-style bodices, bag waists, see through sheers
Key Looks: sugar pink satin shirt “dress” with buttondown tucked into a matching bag waist skirt; pecan strapless empire waist dress; tone-on-tone pumpkin hued chiffon kimono blouse & skirt; ivory full skirt with antique-looking camisole
