FASHIONWEEK Spring 2007: Ah, Vacation! Camp Out on a Remote Desert Island with Heatherette’s Sexy Ragamuffins. FASHIONTRIBES BLOG

Summary: Heatherette is always a Fashionweek happening. They pack the main venue, and a feverish level of excitement pervades the crowd. Legions of drag queens are always in attendance – woe to anyone who attempts to watch the show from behind one of their towering coiffures. Uber human-shape-shifter, Amanda Lepore, of course walked the runway, along with the singer Mya, and Paris & Nicky Hilton. Oh, and the clothes...a sunset-bathed desert island backdrop set the mood for the type of ensembles a castaway abandoned with 15 well stocked trunks might cobble together: caftans, gold hotpants, knickers, high waisted shorts, tutus, preppy ensembles & even the odd bustier or two.
Color Palette: zebra prints, gold, purple, pink, white, deep forest green, fuschia, cobalt, pink, purple, etc. etc.
Textures & Details: b-boys gone Hawaiian with a touch of Africa thrown in; a white wig that Mozart would not have looked out of place in; layered ragamuffin chic; tawdry celeb fabulousness
