Dear Chief: I'm a proud member of the Global Chic tribe, and my wardrobe is mostly Milan runway A-list labels. In fact, I love anything with a label, but I'm starting a new job this coming week where the dress code is..eek..casual. The low - to no - fashion employees actually don no-name jeans and t- shirts daily. I don't want to overdress, but how can I stay fabulously chic while still fitting in with the other staff? - Sincerely, Already Hate My Job
How, Already: Ah, a common dilemma for Global Chic gals. Fear not, Young Stylista, as there plenty of label-clad garments that are both casual and classy. Your best bet would be to invest in a pair of dark, straight leg jeans and a simple cotton white or gray t-shirt or tank. This look is always in, and you, Global Chic gal, can pull it off quite nicely. Consider matching this everyday look with a boldly printed scarf tied around your neck - tres French. Also, a simple pair of tan pumps and too-large square sunglasses will allow you to keep your upscale sense of style. This get-up will be sure to turn heads, and you'll still feel like yourself. Don't be suprised if some of your new co- workers pass jealous glares in your direction. Stay fabulous!
