What's an Assistant Photographer, Hair Stylist, Wardrobe Stylist or Makeup Artist Gotta Do to Be Recognized? Publish in "Let Them Eat Cake" For One. FASHIONTRIBES FASHION BLOG

It's tricky being an assistant. When you first start in the business, it's a great way to get your foot in the door, make contacts, and find out how things really work. But once you've become experienced - and your goal in life is not to stay assisting forever - you work enough to pay the bills, but because you're so busy working for others, you never have time to develop your own career. It's the assisting ghetto, and the transition out ain't easy.

Let Them Eat Cake has come to the rescue as a showcase for new talent, providing assistants with a way to stay creative, build a portfolio of magazine tear sheets, and be acknowledged as creative in their own right. After all, today's assistants are tomorrow's generation of tastemakers that will define a new era in fashion photography, journalism, design and image making. LetThemEatCakeMagazine.com

Hey, I recently moved to Los Angeles, CA to get my foot in the door as a wardrobe stylist as well. Ive meet many stylist who tells me they need an assistant and then nobody ever calls me back. This industry is so crazy. Right now I work for a showroom and I meet stylist who come to pull clothing all the time. I try to talk to them about wanting to be in that field and how to get my foot in the door. But so far nobody has been helpful. So if someone can be so kind to give me a little information on how to break into the wardrobe stylist industry. I would greatly appreciate it!
