Michael Kors Nails the Prep-school Male with a Dash of British Invasion chic-If only he had done the same for his eclectic woman's collection. Fall 2006 Runway Review. Fashiontribes Fashion Blog & Podcast
For the fellas, Kors chanelled a 50s Harvard-bound prepster, with skinny legs & timeless polo-style sweaters, scarves & other Ivy League ready threads. The only misstep: fur for guys...a little too "Where-my-Ladies-at?" for our taste.
For the chicks, however, it was apparently the 50 faces of Eve - perhaps 4 or 5 different collections rather than a single cohesive message. Individually, there were outfits that were stellar, but they each seemed to be a part of an entirely separate theme. The white rock-star'ish coat belonged on a different runway from the grey paisley silk blouse & matching grey & white plaid skirt, which again belonged on a different runway from the boho'ish brown silk tunic poet dress.
What we love from Kors is what he does best: glamourous preppy sportswear in uber-luxe fabrics, and hopefully, he'll be back with more focus next season.
