Louis Vuitton Spring 2006 Collection from Paris Fashion Week-Marc Jacobs gives us a dribble of Pocohantas, a dash of 80's couture, and some items that will make every 20-something drool-Fashontribes Fashion Blog

Marc Jacobs is a busy man.  Serving up efforts for his two eponymous lines-Marc Jacobs Collection and Marc by Marc Jacobs-in New York, he saved the most shebang for last, ending Paris Fashion week with the luxurious Louis Vuitton show.  With reason to celebrate-the luxury empire recently opened a massive store on the Champs-Elysses-Jacobs sent out a joyous, zealous collection brimming with technicolour-colour items and delicious bags.  Opening the show with strategically bedazzled white items- a tank and skirt with a circular patch of jewels, a billowing shirt and matching tie, a leather mini with yet another take on the shirt and tie, it wasn't long before the celebration began.  A parade of nude items encrusted almost entirely with stones and mirrors was followed by a nude, turquoise, purple and black pass at some Pocahontas themes.  Colourful dresses, gold suits, pink trenches and the occasional subtle tan outfit passed by-ensuring the desire of socialites and their mothers everywhere. 

Jacobs shined  on the accessories-bags embroidered with a chain scarf-print, scarf-print items covered with plastic, multi-hued fringe on the multi-colour print bags, and shoes with buckle after buckle.  His jewelry is becoming yet another strength, with long beaded chains draping many mannequins.

To say this collection is not a goldmine for the social set is an untruth, however to say it is the best he has ever served up is also a falsity.
