Proenza Schouler GO INTERNATIONL TARGET-ing a SENSATIONAL Collection Debuting at NYFW Feb 2- 5 in NYC. Fashiontribes LA STORY NYFW DESIGNER HUNT Blog!!

We  *HEART* Target's GO International line. Why? Because we get some great designers who believe in giving us some of the chic appeal at street level prices-- fashionistas call it street chic because we can dress it up, funk it down, make it anything we want and still look fabulous without putting a big dent in the credit card.  Now that's a HUGE plus!

Looking back at the line-up of designers the Go  International  collections have featured, each has been successful. Launching this week at NYFW on Feb 2 in NYC, is Proenza Schouler with clothing designed to melt the hardest fashionista heart.

" Our focus is always the construction of clothes--the tailoring, the linings, the seams-- while at the same time remaining edgy and youthful for the woman who appreciates individual style." states Lazaro Hernandez.

"Designing for GO International allows us to bring our fresh take on fashion to women everywhere. " added Jack McCollough.

Check Out Why Lisa Palleschi's been "RELEASED". Fashiontribes LA STORY New ARTIST & CD Podcast & Blog.

Lisapalleschialbumcover

Lisa Palleschi's debut album "RELEASED"  goes into "re-release" this week. Consider it a re-birth of this CD which had it's first single,  "Learning How to Love Again" was the # 1 most added A/C single in its first week.

Lisa Palleschi  cut a demo in 2003 in a small Long Island studio owned by Richie Cannata, a collaborator with Billy Joel. Through the help of Steven C. Beer of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, she began traveling to New York, L.A. and Nashville to co-write and   define/refine  both her voice and her songs with the likes of such co-producers/co-writers as Jeff Franzel (Taylor Dayne, Clay Aiken, Shawn Colvin), Adrian Gurvitz (Sheryl Crow, Meredith Brooks, Steve Perry), Frank Filipetti (James Taylor, Carly Simon, The Color Purple) and Tom Kimmel (Joe Cocker, Linda Ronstadt, Art Garfunkel).

singer songwriter musician.. re-launching her cd

MP3 File

When I listened to this CD, I heard two distinct voices or themes-- and I asked Lisa about it (and you can hear more in the podcast)

"I think this album has two personalities. Half the songs are really pretty ballads, love songs, and the other half are more in-your-face, rock songs."

Lisapalleschicloseup

While I think she has a beautiful voice, after a while the love songs really start to feel the same-- hwoever when she cuts loose and switches the theme and "voice", she rocks and really comes across with a dynamic presentation. I would love to see this sort of thing develop more into a more  fully developed presentation.. but as a first drop CD, great job!!

The 12 songs on the disc cover the gamut from post-break-up tune "New Beginning"  which Palleschi states "It's about taking risks and not being afraid to fall on your ass!") to "Lightyears Away," which  talks about living in the present-- being true to live in the moment: "It's about not worrying about little stupid petty stuff, tomorrow those things will seem light years away."  Loving the "Already Gone" that what goes round comes back to bite you in the butt -- so apt at times whether it's about a guy or someone just getting justice (sorry but it just fits my state of mind currently) . "Once Upon A Time," talks about the drive to actually fulfill a dream rather than allowing something to die or the "would have/could have/should have"  situation. According to Lisa, she "was thinking about all the people in the world who never followed through on what they really wanted to do in life."

Suite Life VII: Access Hollywood at the Sofitel Brings You the 411 on Wine Courtesy of WineLibraryTV.com! LA STORY WINE LOVERS PODCAST and BLOG!

Wltvlogo

Access Hollywood /On 3 Productions at the Sofitel LA Hotel for the Golden Globes was a smokin' hot place to be-- tons of celebs. But one of the most under the radar celebs is someone you probably saw online about wine-- Gary Vaynerchuk from WineLibraryTV.com. If you have an affinity for wine, you know this site. If you don't know anything about wine but want to move past the "two buck Chuck" from TJ's, then you  need to check out this site.

Garyplus

Gary Vaynerchuk is the Director of Operations at the Wine Library. His passion for wine started at a young age--try 17 ( Uh, Gary.. a question on that one but it can wait). He started off by reading Robert Parker and the Wine Spectator (super huge wine-junkie magazine or as those who are very "proper"-- enophile type magazine that rates  different wines and discusses both domestic and global winemaking)   While Gary is only 30 years of age,  he's a wizard at  understanding wine and making enology accessible to the general public--meaning he speaks PLAIN ENGLISH and uses descriptive terms that we all understand.

Aerial1_1

Aerial view of Wine Library (awesome huh!. wait till you see the rest of the photos!)

Gary has received a large amount of press and accolades such as being featured in the New York Times and GQ Magazine. In order to expand his horizons, Gary has visited every major wine region in the world.  So what does this really mean? He's been to the different wine regions and can explain the differences in climate, soil in terms and language that anyone can understand in flavor descriptions that will either ignite your wine indulging fervor  or direct you elsewhere to other types of wines.  No bs and no hype, just straight talk from an enthusiastic but basic sort of guy.

Check out the podcast with Gary about this fab site where he does VIDEO Casts talking to you about different wines.

One of the most recent V-Logs from Winelibrarytv.com is  on wine tasting parties actually is a great idea for any time of year and is a great reason (other than Super Bowl) to get everyone together for a casual but fun evening of wine-tasting. Asking people to bring snacks or nibbles suitable for wine drinking (a la tapas) would be an excellent way to make it more party like and yet give you the ability to show off several wines in either a red or white genre-- from a savory to sweet  range or just in a favorite range you like.

Aerial2

Second aerial view.. realize you can BUY from this place. This is THE place to buy wines! It's got a huge selection and prices that will compete with BevMo and TJ's.

Also for those who aren't wine afficianados, the episode about  "wine drinking is fun" is definitely a good place to start!
If you like reading blogs (and if you are here, you do), check out the onsite winelibrarytv.com blog. It's a hoot and has some interesting discussions and ideas.

Aerial3

Did I tell you this place was HUGE?

Once you noodle around the site, you might want to buy some of the brands or vintages he's talked about but maybe they aren't available where you are located! No worries, Check out http://winelibrary.com/ to purchase but definitely make sure you bookmark the tv.winelibrary.com to get to Gary and email him your questions and comments.

GARY!! I have a question-- Sancerre-- Loved it, but where can I find the one that you served me that day at Access Hollywood Lounge at the Sofitel? What was the brand? Because I am not finding anything here in So. CAL that is remotely that good.

The Suite Life V: Silver Spoon Glammin in the Hills with Swag Bags Full. LA Story GOLDEN GLOBES GLOW PODCAST & Blog

The Sweetest Part of the Silver Spoon is actually licking it clean!

One of the fun things is finding out about all the new stuff that's come to town or coming on the "scene" that you will see in magazines very soon.

Coming both to LA, the WWW and magazines is  SWEET SUGAR-- a new  candy store opening  on Melrose in February. It's a "candy lounge + custom candy" . Available in person AND online, you can get just about anything to cure that  addiction to the "sugar fix". Listen to the podcast to hear MORE about this VERY cool store. (hmmm wonder if we can do a cocktail party there.. sugar high versus the  alcohol buzz..... wonder which one we should do? thoughts?)

Karmaology_beads

Zorbitz is a  new-ish line that you have probably seen but not realized that this company wasn't just making a buck-- but giving back some of those bucks in the form of donations to charities. This mom + daughter biz has great charisma, karma and ideas on what's hot in the fun area of charms, feng shui, and karma bead bracelets and they are cute cute cute!!

Loave_and_friendship_charm

Check out the podcast for good vibes and luck to you and you giving good karma back-- and don't forget to visit them on the web or check them out at your local stores to give you some amazing little gifts and trinkets to give to others! Listen to the podcast to learn MORE about this great company

Expressive Fortune is a bit different but a whole lot of fun for anyone who loves "outside the box" gifts or cookies! These gigantic fortune cookies were used to deliver the invitations to celebrities for the Silver Spoon.

Sweet_fortunes_sprinkle_cookie

MP3 File

These tasty treats were filled with MORE fortune cookies of the smaller variety but super fun to eat. Definitely worth it effort to work on eating the big ones and a great dessert treat too. Check out the podcast to hear about the brand.

While I didn't podcast this next cool line, it's definitely got to be part of YOUR wardrobe. There are enough different products in the line, that you can find use for at least one thing (and I have a dress that is definitely requires the use of some of these great products. The line is FASHION FORMS!

Fashion_forms_tapes

I can't tell you how many celebrities would be lost without these tapes to keep those "cut to there" gowns in place. It's definitely a great product. ( I know! I used a ton of them when I attended the Emmys) !

Another cool new product that I would highly recommend (and I will need for this killer dress I have) is the one featured below The FAUX BRA that  gives you a lift with minimal  coverage and  a much needed support.  It's ideal for those very backless dressess! (trust me I KNOW!!) :

Faux_bra_fashion_forms

Another one to check out is the EXTREME  SILICONE ADHESIVE BRA that can be worn up to six times. This is a great idea too and much needed with the "cut to there" or see through clothing!

This was not all that was at the Silver Spoon but you got some great 411 here to give you the "feel" and experience of having been there!

It's A Suite Life VI: Access Hollywood'Gets Celebs Glowin and Golden with SWAG: LA Story Golden Globes Podcasts & Blog

While most were scurrying all over LA, those smart enough to hit the Sofitel were treated royally to great food  courtesy of Simon LA and an even greater bar -- with wine selections provided by the WineLibraryTV.com   at the Access Hollywood, On 3 Productions Suite.

and Lollipop Theater Network

Lollipop

on behalf of stars from Dreamgirls, Babel, Alpha Dog, Heroes, Ugly Betty, The Office, Grey's Anatomy, and more who visited The Access Hollywood "STUFF YOU MUST..." Lounge in honor of the Golden Globes. For every nominee and presenter that attended CVS made a donation to benefit two charities chosen by Access Hollywood  hosts Nancy O'Dell and Billy Bush.  Nancy's charity is Best Buddies and Billy supports the Lollipop Theater Network.

Some of the participating brands included Altoids (chocolate covered cinnamon lozenges. YUM); Carrie & Danielle, Inc. Private Style Statement Session, Fiji Water, FreshLook Eye Exam & Year Supply of Color Contact Lenses, LeSportsac XL, Lifeway Foods, Red Bull, Sofitel LA, TimeMug,  and WIneLibraryTV.com.

Most of these brands you have heard about-- but maybe NOT heard about WineLibraryTV.com. Check out the blog to follow this  which will have a podcast with WineLibraryTV.com! We are splitting that off because it's a longer podcast and this is a long enough post. If you know nothing about wine, or if you know a lot about wine-- you can learn something from WineLibraryTV.com. It's a fascinating website for vinophiles!

Check out who was there at the bottom but look at WHAT was there first because SWAG was the word at this year's Golden Globe suites:

Solstice Sunglasses had a selection of glasses for stars to be "cool" in.

Hanes presented  a unique tropical retreat with intimate apparel from Bali, Wonderbra, Donna Karan and more had celebs  coveting lots of great  styles.   Joely Fisher (“‘Til Death”) and  mom Connie Stevens shopped together. Angela Kinsey (“The Office”) said “you just saved me a trip to the mall, I will wear this strapless Wonderbra to the Golden Globes" (how's that for the best in time-savers!) New mom Chandra Wilson selected the Donna Karan Body perfect Slimmer because “slimmers" are always good, I need these now!”. “American Idol” runner-up Katherine McPhee selected several pairs of Wonderbra panties,  because her BF commented that  she "can never have enough lacey panties"> Jennifer Hudson  picked out Donna Karan slimmers because for Red Carpet gowns, “You gotta love the slimmers for the Red Carpet” .

CVS  was a major presence featuring a selection of hair care, makeup, skin and body care for both men and women. This "Reinventing Beauty Spa" was a great place to get a quick touch-up or even a hair cut courtesy ofthe world-famous Christophe who has launched a line with CVS/Pharmacy. Also the skincare & cosmetic line that CVS was featuring was Nordic cosmetic brand Lumene .

HANES   was handing out goody bags filled with tees and gift certificates for online shopping! What a treat to order your fave Hanes essentials online and have them delivered to your home!  Kevin Dillon(“Entourage”)  left with some "perfect tees" and said “I’m running low on my Hanes – need more now!". Kate Flannery (“The Office”) is using her gift certificate to shop online with her boyfriend. Hayden Panetierre (“Heroes”) is a dad's girl (if not a hero), “I love that I can get stuff for myself and my Dad”

AMC THEATRES® offered out passes to theaters.   Rusty Joiner (Resident Evil 3) was excited to get to see his fave flicks at his local AMC. Amber Heard (“Alpha Dog”) can't wait to see  her performance with Justin Timberlake in Alpha Dog. Eric King & Lauren Velez (“Dexter”) are going to catch an upcoming show of “Babel”. Jonathan Silverman felt it was the best gift in the lounge  as did Kevin Dillon who was going to tell his castmates to the Lounge to pick up the gift that keeps on giving!

LAVANILA LABORATORIES    Who knew that “American Idol” stars came in flavors?  Katherine McPhee declared “I’m a Vanilla girl…pure vanilla is my scent!”. Donal Logue (“Nights of Prosperity”) and his two sons helped choose the vanilla blossom scent for Mom! Becki Newman  (“Ugly Betty”) opened her new scent and spritzed on the spot. Vanessa Williams (“Ugly Betty”) chose vanilla grapefruit scent because she like her fragrance with “a little bite.”  Jai Rodriguez (“Queer Eye”) picked out some fragrance for his best friend, (Grey’s Anatomy) star Sara Ramirez. Check out the podcast on Lavanila Laboratories three different scents. ! YUMMY--and sold exclusively at Sephora right now.

SOLSTICE SUNGLASS BOUTIQUE    Vanessa Williams came in so-so sunglasses and left with  her "son-approved" Marc Jacobs frames. Erik King (Dexter) chose Hugo Boss and Armani Exchange frames because he plans to wear them on the show (after working it out with the stylist). Terrence Howard added Dior Homme aviators to his  smooth vibe. The Queen of hip-hop-- Mary J. Blige-- scooped up six pairs of the hottest new sunglasses from Bottega Vennetta, YSL, Kate Spade and Marc Jacobs!

BREAD DENIM    Brittany Snow and Tina Fey picked out some dark denim skinny, zipper at the ankle jeans and wore them immediately.   Jennifer Hudson ordered a custom-made to fit her star magnitude. Bread Denim will also be sending a special pair  for Mr. Payton, Hudson’s Pomeranian puppy who shopped the Lounge with her. Mary J. Blige got a pair in each color and wash.   Kevin Dillon put them on immediately and said that he will wear them on “Entourage”. Dominique Swain (“Alpha Dog”) fell in love with them after putting them on and did a supermodel strut  in the lounge. (yeow!).

Bread006037

CARLOS FALCHI    Vanessa Williams and Chandra Wilson both agreed that they would carry these "one of a kind" custom clutch bags designed specifically for the Golden Globes. Vanessa chose pink and Chandra went for the large clutch with purple stones. Kevin Dillon picked up a lizard version for his wife. Perry Reeves (“Entourage”) felt that her character should be accessorizing with Carlos Falchi and said she would talk to the show’s stylist! While this isn't the same clutch that was featured for the Golden Globes, it's quite similar to it but it was more gilded and had more exquisite details.

BABYDISH    Ali Landry loved her BabyDish bag filled with everything mom needs for baby and looks forward to using it when she has a baby. ( hmmm could that be a hint?) Nancy O’Dell has got baby on the brain! She picked out a bag that she plans to use for all of her baby things because she’s due later this year!

Sparkling cubic zirconia pieces from Ziamond (www.ziamond.com), were faves of several celebs including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Pamela Anderson, Jessica Alba.

Definitely getting the attention of the guys and gamer girls was the latest gameware from Splitfish for Xbox and Playstation (www.splitfish.com)

Invicta watches  were a big hit too -- and everyone wanted one.

WHO:    Talent that visited the gift lounge:  Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson (“Dreamgirls”), Adriana Barraza (“Babel”), Blair Underwood, Rex Lee (“Entourage”), Aisha Tyler, Chiwetel Ejiofor (“Kinky Boots”), Rinko Kinkuchi (“Babel”), Santiago Cabrera (“Heroes”), Brittany Snow (“American Dreamz”), Keith Robinson (“Dreamgirls”), Emily Deschanel (“Bones”), Eric Millegan (“Bones”), Katherine McPhee (“American Idol”), Ken Davitian (“Borat”), Kevin Weisman (“Ghost Whisperer”), Leslie Bibb (“Taladega Nights”), Vanessa Williams (“Ugly Betty”), AJ Buckley (“CSI NY”), Amber Heard (“Alpha Dog”), Bai Ling, Becki Newton (“Ugly Betty”), Carmine Giovinazzo (“CSI NY”), Chandra Wilson (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Clifton Collins, Jr. (“Babel”), Dominique Swain (“Touristas”), Erik King (“Dexter”), Giada de Laurentis (“Today” & “Easy Italian”), Greg Grunberg (“Heroes”), Hunter Parrish (“Weeds”), Jai Rodriguez (“Queer Eye”), Jason George (“What About Brian”), Kate Flannery (“The Office”), Kevin Dillon (“Entourage”), Laurel Hollomon (“The L Word”), Lauren Velez (Dexter”), Melora Hardin (“The Office”), Michael Urie (“Ugly Betty”), Melora Hardin (“The Office”), Mindy Kaling (“The Office”), Patricia Arquette (“Medium”), Rena Sofer (“Heroes”), Sophia Brown (“Shark”), Taryn Manning (Hustle & Flow”), Tony Plana (“Ugly Betty”), Donal Logue (“The Knights of Prosperity”), Hayden Panettiere (“Heroes”), Jennifer Finnigan (“Close to Home”), Kate Walsh (“Gray’s Anatomy”), Perrey Reeves (“Entourage”), Brian Baumgartner (“The Office”) , Ali Landry (“Eve”) and Angela Kinsey (“The Office”)

Road to the Red Carpet: Sweeter than Candy-- Reese's Piece from Van Cleef & Arpels! Reese Witherspoon at the SAG Awards. LA STORY's Road to the Red Carpet Blog!

Reesewitherspoon128sagre

Reese Witherspoon looked  sweet as candy walking the "red carpet" at the Screen Actors Guild awards!  Wearing a grey Olivier Theyskens for Nina Ricci dress, Reese Witherspoon sweetened her  look with a gorgeous (can we say jaw-dropping) Van Cleef & Arpels vintage  diamond bracelet circa 1940 featuring 90 baguette diamonds and 340 round diamonds (totaling 47 carats) mounted in platinum.  (Talk about heavy weight jewelry.) She complimented the look with a pair of diamond and platinum studs.

Looks  like Reese Witherspoon has found a great jewelry line that suits her stellar look in Van Cleef  & Arpels. This was the second time this month Oscar winner Witherspoon has worn the famed jewelry brand. She wore museum collection pieces for the Golden Globes as seen in a previous LA STORY  post.

We heart Reese Witherspoon and her gorgeous baubles from Van Cleef & Arpels.  Bling it on Reese!

It doesn't take much to recognize this  woman as an international beauty and “woman to watch.” With gorgeous black hair, hypnotic chocolate brown eyes, glowing skin and an enviable 6-foot frame, Luciana’s look harkens back to  screen siren icons -- Sophia Loren and Claudia Cardinale. She spent a chunk of her life as a jet-setting model only to return to Brazil to kick off her TV career.

Born not far from Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to renown Brazilian soap star actress, Vera Gimenez, Luciana grew up  in a lifestyle that blended a free spirited beach  life with the hectic public spotlight that accompanies television fame in Brazil as it does anywhere else. Discovered by John Casablancas (founder of Elite model agency) at age 16, Luciana went to Paris to launch a distinguished modeling career. Continuous travel to Paris, London, Milan and New York enabled Luciana to become fluent in English, French and Italian as well as Portuguese-- making her multi-linguality an formidable addition to her repertoire of talents. The Suite Life 1V + Road to the Red Carpet: Getting the most out of life-- care of Billion Dollar Brows. LA Story GOLDEN GLOBES GLOW Podcast & Blog!

MP3 File

Check out the podcast with Billion Dollar Brows  creator/ owner, Natalie Plain. One of the KEY participants at the Silver Spoon was the BDB  booth. Stacked with people waiting for brow grooming and a chance to try the brow lift, it was great to see Natalie Plain and her group of BDB peeps.

Ext_fisheye_11

Keeping your brows looking good isn't exactly the easiest trick in the world to accomplish. Given the profileration of brow groomers out there  particularly here in LA where there are celeb brow boutiques, one still needs to be careful about where they go and what is being done. Sometimes people make mistakes and a bit too much is taken off..... or brows are groomed unevenly-- which used to be problematic in terms of growing out your brows-- particularly when beauty trends change from thick to thin or thin to thick.. (*emphasis on the thin to thicker brows).

Prod_img_boost_01

With all the proliferation of  brow grooming products, one might think that there was simulataneous explosion of products from the group of various brow specialists here in LA. Not so!.. One woman here in LA started it first--  Natalie Plain-- and she came up with the formula for Billion Dollar Brows-- a line of brow grooming and brow-growing products that  are truly amazing (I use and love them! ).

Prod_img_pencil_01

I have known Natalie a few years and she has an extensive background in brow grooming. She came up with this great product line to improve growth and help  sparse brows that were overly plucked grow back faster and with more lush fullness.

Salon_2

Having known Natalie for a few years, it was just a matter of time to get the product collection finished and then find the "perfect location" for her own " Brow Bungalow"-- and she did  near the intersection of Beverly Drive and Charleville (east of Jamba Juice)

Ext_11

Offering a range of services beyond just brow grooming, including make-up artistry, facials, waxing and this yummy microcurrent face and brow lift, there's a great deal of beauty treatments being offered in this cute little bungalow done in silver and white  with a relaxed vibe.

Browliftdemopic

The microcurrent brow lift and face treatments are available by appointment and well worth every penny. Just like the micro-current treatment found on the East Coast, this facial and brow treatment can make you look less tired and  fresher. Done in conjunction with a facial, this is truly a wonderful treat- and treatment-- and done with a series of them, can make you look YEARS younger!

So all of you who think you have to go to NYC to get this treatment done, -- no longer will you have to  wade through the security lines at LAX.. you can come to Beverly Drive and Charleville for this wonder-treatment!
