Platinum " Guilds" the Emmys

High atop the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills is a secluded penthouse that for celebs and stylists will turn to  in solving their jewelry needs for the event du jour! The Platinum Guild books out this penthouse and decks it out with the most amazing jewels-- long tables of diamonds, sapphires, rubies and all manner of stones all done in  platinum!  The Emmys were no different and  walking into this penthouse required a couple of security checks but it was worth it to bedazzled with over 10 million dollars of jewelry from some of the most renown jewelry designers as well as new designers coming on the scene.

There were major gems to choose from as well as smaller pieces like cufflinks, bracelets, pins and even watches.

Who visited this stellar suite? Nicollette Sheridan visited twice. The first day was to check out the most amazing jewelry to go with her stunning dress. She was rewarded with this great goody bag of loot!

That was Wednesday. On Thursday she was back to have lunch on the beautiful terrace overlooking Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills. She brought friends including one of her beautiful dogs who was sooo great!

Lunch is one of the great reasons to attend the Platinum Suite since sitting out on the terrace is lovely and the food is exquisite. Celebs and stylists were dining on  spa cuisine of fruits and small muffins or were going for the gusto with carnitas and chicken soft tacos with green rice and black beans. The desserts were heavenly!!

If not snacking on the lovely food, most of the celebrities were test-driving the gems like Nikki Griffin from the OC with jewelry and fashion expert  Michael O'Connor helping her out.

Rachael Leigh Cook stopped by to peruse the offerings too.

Others stopped by for the quiet respite that the Platinum Guild  suite always offers. For this event, Jurlique skincare was there offering hand massages and mini-facials with their wonderful all-natural organic skincare.

L.A. Vie L'Orange, a local celebrity filled hand and foot spa on San Vicente (heavenly!!)  was there providing manicures and pedicures for anyone who felt the need for some TLC.Nicole Bilderback from HOUSE and Without a Trace took some time to relax with L.A. Vie  hand treatments.

One of the most popular items was getting a manicure with the Essie Platinum nail polish-- retail--$250!!!

Stylist Todd Hallman got a break from his "hit the ground running" schedule by getting a manicure.

Other notables who attended the suite included :Jacqueline McKenzie (The 4400), Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle), ( I was there when she was going into the hotel. She's so tiny!) and Tichina Arnold (Everybody Hates Chris).

It's not all just for actors. Stylists definitely check out the  jewelry because typically the actors are working. This is just a few of the stylists who dropped by. While I was getting a hand massage, at least 3 came to check out the jewelry

While I was there with another writer friend, we were told that most of the jewelry had been picked  out the day before but still stylists were rollling in to the suite to check out the phenomenal pieces.

Everyone else who visited received a certificate for a facial at Jurlique's Beverly Hills store and some cute little Jurlique skincare samples.

I had a great time. I got to get some R&R before we hit 2 other suites that day and I had another 3 more on Friday.  It was  a great way to kick of Emmy week!

That's just the beginning of the story--the LA Story for Emmy week!
