[NOTE: IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT EACH FASHION TRIBE, START HERE]
James Dean, the original rebel without a cause, was rarely seen out of his. Marlon Brando rode into fashion history in 1954's The Wild Ones in one. The Ramones - check. Sid Vicious? Of course. Debbie Harry - yep. Joan Jett - naturally.
The Perfecto leather jacket looks as timeless and modern today as the year it was originally designed - 1928. How many things created before 1930 can you think of that have aged so well, you'd actually want one in your 2014 closet? Exactly. The Perfecto is one of the first - if not the first - motorcycle jacket; it was designed by Irving Schott and named for his favorite cigar. A Harley Davidson distributor on Long Island carried them for $5.50.
Although you can now build your own, choosing from a variety of nice leather hues & hardwares - ordering up one in navy is currently tempting me bigtime - if you don't have the basic black lambskin Perfecto 218W in your closet...your closet won't be able to consider itself self-respecting so be sure to start there!
