Mario Testino usually shoots the latest & greatest must-haves for glossies like Vogue. However, he recently turned his lens onto the vibrant costumes worn in the Andes region of his native Peru; a collection of his shots of people in traditional dress has been on display in Lima at his cultural foundation, MATE. The Alta Moda exhibit has now inspired a collection of bags, kaftans & jewelry which riff off the richly embroidered, haute-couture'ish qualities of these elaborate ensembles - called Mario Testino for MATE.
And a percentage of the (non-traditional) prices will be donated to the charity, which celebrates and promotes the work of Peruvian artists.
