Chic Cashmere-Blend Coats from Land's End + Some Ideas for Styling Them
Lands’ End recently inquired whether I'd like to review some selections from their new Luxe Wool and cashmere outerwear collection. I declined. NOT! Of course I said yes. & not long after, an annoyed delivery guy schlepped a giant box to my doorstep containing three coats in shades of camel, red and magenta.
So what's the best way to show off my chic & well-priced (these coats are all $250 or less) new outerwear wardrobe?
CAMEL: For the classic camel-hair pea coat, I think shades of charcoal and burgundy give it a retro-cozy collegiate kind of chic. The trick? Keep the individual pieces fairly clean (skip the embellishments & choose luxe fabrics instead) and finish off with jewelry made from a warm-toned metal (these cute knots are brass) that ties into the warm shade of the coat. This coat is the Luxe Wool Peacoat in Vicuna.
RED: Yes, you can wear it with your black pants or regular jeans, but to step the look up a notch, go for denim in a bright blue (red looks so cute with vibrant blue) and a crayon-yellow top. Boots into a yellow'ish suede reference the sweater visually and help make the look coherent. A bag that mirrors some of the colors from the outfit is a fun touch that will make you really stand out in a winter crowd. This coat is the Luxe Wool Scoopneck Coat in Vermillion.
MAGENTA: Bright pink already makes a statement, so a fun neutral to pair it with is a soft blush - in the pink family but light enough that it acts like a neutral. Jade-green touches help keep the look lively and sophisticated. This coat is the Luxe Wool Swing Jacket in Boysenberry.
How about you? How would you style any - or all - of these cool coats?
