A Gazzabuglio of Vintage Gucci, Pucci...Fiorucci
While the masses lust after its delectable prosciutto, fashion insiders head to Parma for a treat of a different sort: a very special "guazzabuglio" (Italian for a haphazard mess) of vintage treasures.
Hand-picked by the very-unmessy Letizia Sabini, Gazzabuglio houses A-list accessories, bags, shoes, hats & frocks - all in pristine condition & from the old-school names you know & lust after. Here, Hermes bags & scarves keep company with Chanel suits, along with bijoux & other lovely luxuries by Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Vuitton, Carven and Roberta di Camerino - along with a wealth of knowledge. "For the novice like myself, every visit to Gazzabuglio is a lesson in lore and fact," reports Erica Firpo about her annual pilgrimage to add to her collection of natty neckwear. "Stitching, numbering, signatures — Letizia unfurls Hermès knowledge as she does each scarf. I am mesmerized."
And in luck, I'd say, as she heads out with her scarf safely in hand (or on neck or bag handle) for an afternoon of shopping, window-perusing and of course indulging in some of the fabled ham with melon and a tasty side of people-watching.
